Dino the Dinosaur

Here is a new illustration I just got done with.

He's al ready for a sleep over.  He even has his stuffed dinosaur companion.  Not sure what I am going to do with him yet.  Perhaps a story will follow soon.

Until next time, it's time for me to get back a the drawing board.

Animal Closeups

I decided to start a series of trying to draw an animal a day.  So I came up with just doing animal closeups.  Why? You ask?  Well,  only doing their heads has it's advantages which I will list below.

ADVANTAGES OF DRAWING ONLY CLOSEUPS

  1. It's easy and quick
  2. It's a way for me to practice on SketchBook Pro.
  3. It keeps my creative juices flowing.
  4. And most of all it's fun.
Let's start with this guy.

So I already posted some of my animal closeups as doodles and you can see them here and here.

So every week I will post a new animal closeup.

Until next time, it's time for me to get back at the drawing board.

Illustration Friday #29

This week's Illustration Friday challenge is so delicious and happens to be one of my favorite desserts!  ICE CREAM!

And look who also enjoys ice cream.

Can you guess the flavor?  It is my all time favorite ice cream in the world.  No, not blueberry.  Blue is in the name though.  Any more guesses?  Oh, okay, it's Blue Moon!

Hope you enjoyed this illustration.

Pinch Punch Post for May

Twitter's illustration challenge "Pinch Punch Post" for May was "monkey."

I  had a lot of fun with the word.  My first thought was a barrel of monkeys and then this is what I decided to do.

I illustrated this is pencil and ink and then finished it off with watercolors.

I hope you enjoyed this illustration.

Until the next time, it's time for me to get at the drawing board.

Illustration Friday #28

Wow, this was a quick turnaround this week.  I was messing around on SketchBook Pro and came up with this week's Illustration Friday challenge.  The topic is "portrait."

This illustration was done digitally.

I think he looks a little shy.  What do you think?  Overall, I am happy with him.

Illustration Friday #27

This week's Illustration Friday Challenge tugs at our hearts.  It's all about "love."

I was going to use an old drawing that I had with hedgehogs but that would have been lazy on my behalf.  Here is the illustration I am talking about.

This is what I decided to go with.

It's a simple drawing and it is new.

I hope you enjoyed these illustrations.

July Pinch Punch Post

For this month's drawing challenge for Twitter's Pinch Punch Post, gives us a close up look at a little red crustacean.  Can you guess what I have drawn?  If you guessed crab than you would be right.  Except this crab isn't crabby at all.  He's a pretty happy crab.

See for yourself.

I illustrated this on Sketchbook Pro.  I think he came out pretty good.

I hope you enjoyed this illustration.  Until the next time it is time for me to get back at the drawing board.
